small town nostalgia

There’s something about brick buildings, cobblestone streets, a town square with locally owned businesses, and charming homes with front porches that just makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I drive through places like these and imagine what it’s like to live there. Do neighbors wave at each other? Do people walk into the local diner and say “I’ll have the usual?” Do kids get out of school and walk for ice cream? Maybe I’m imagining something out of a storybook or a movie, but this is what I pictured when I fell in love with the Cherry St. Bungalow.

We purchased this 1932 craftsman bungalow from a lovely couple who raised their 4 kids here. It was obvious the home was well-loved and well-taken care of. They adapted it numerous times to fit their needs as their kids grew up and eventually moved out. When we saw it, we knew this was a place we could move to once we were empty-nesters. Even though that’s still several years away, I couldn't let it go.

We are located 1 block from beautiful Seminary Park and 2 blocks from the square where there are wonderful restaurants, boutiques, cafés, shops, bars, and antiques. There is always something to do, whether it’s a street festival, farmer’s market, live music, a car show, or beer-tasting. This is not a “sleepy” town.

So, until we’re ready to move here ourselves, we want to invite you to enjoy it. We have poured our heart into the restoration of this place, and hope that our guests love it as much as we do. Welcome to Cherry St.
